We have some exciting news for you today! From the 1st to the 5th of November 2021, Art for Charity Collective is hosting a HUGE art auction to help raise vital funds for Flipflopi. The charity art auction will be held on Instagram. They’ve been sharing all the incredible artists who will be selling their work, go to Instagram to see!

Here’s just a little snippet of what’s on offer…

Follow Art for Charity Collective to take part in the charity art auction next week and to see all the wonderful artists taking part!

PLUS they have a very special guest artist that will also be selling their artwork for our worthy cause… NOEL FIELDING

Yes, the inspired creator of the Mighty Boosh and co-presenter of the Great British Bake Off is putting some of his own artwork up for sale.

To take part in the auction all you need to do is follow Art for Charity Collective and tune in next week when the auction starts!

Since 2020, Art for Charity Collective has raised over £145k for charity! The funds that are raised from this auction will be used to build a first-of-its-kind state-of-the-art workshop at Captain Ali’s workshop in Lamu.

We will be creating a local solution to a global problem by building a plastics recovery, recycling centre and heritage boatbuilding workshop using post-consumer plastics on Lamu Island. As the direct result of funds raised from these auctions, we aim to have removed 60+ tonnes of plastic waste destined for and collected from the ocean from this tiny island by June next year.

And we intend to give all that plastic a second and permanent life!

We will also be able to hire 12 people and create opportunities through the supply chain of a further 40 people. But we won’t only be offering employment. We want to inspire, train and create opportunities at our innovation hub. By doing this we can inspire more circular economies across Kenya, East Africa and the world to find sustainable locally created ways to manage plastic waste.

Working especially with women we have a target of going beyond simply giving women income through picking up waste… We want to identify cottage industries where women can develop additional skills, generate more income and have more autonomy to manage their funds as they see fit.

And you can help us to achieve all this by taking part in the art auction over on Art for Charity Collective and by sharing this email and the auction with any friends that might be interested in purchasing a one of a kind piece of art!

Remember, the auction is running from the 1st to the 5th of November on Art For Charity Collective’s Instagram page.
