Ben Morison the founder and project leader for the FlipFlopi Expedition recently appeared on The Scoop hosted by Salim Amin. On the show they discussed Ben’s life prior to The FlipFlopi Project and how he spent a decade building a tourism business focused on holidays in Africa. Ben also explains why he started the FlipFlopi Project and why we are committed to dealing with the plastic waste issues through building a traditional dhow boat using 100% recycled plastic as a direct response to the alarming situation on the coastline because of plastics and flip-flops in particular.

James Wakibia a social activist and photographer from Nakuru was also on the show. They talk about how his activism has helped bring to light the alarming practices in some of Kenya’s hospitals for keeping babies away from parents until their bills were paid. They go on to share how he has moved his passion and focus into the movement #BanPlasticKE in Kenya. During the interview he counts Boniface Mwangi and Wangari Maathai among his mentors.
